Privacy policy
This policy describes how Josh Neider (“we,” “us”), operating Job Burro at jobburro.com, handles personal information. It applies to the website, the app, and optional contributions.
Who we are
Job Burro is a sole proprietorship in Boise, Idaho, United States. Contact: [email protected] .
Information we collect
- Account. Email address, optional phone number, name, and login session data.
- Profile and hunt data. Location, target roles, applications, notes, companies, and similar records you enter.
- Materials. Resumes, cover letters, writing samples, and files you upload.
- Optional Gmail import. If you connect Gmail, we read sent-mail you choose to import as writing-voice samples.
- Usage. Server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) for security and debugging.
- Contributions. If you pay, Stripe collects payment details. We receive confirmation of amount, time, and the email Stripe has for that checkout — not your full card number.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- operate and improve the service (including AI drafting and job-search features you request);
- authenticate you and keep the service secure;
- send one-time login codes and account email;
- process optional contributions via Stripe;
- comply with law and investigate abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your resume content to train public models for unrelated products.
AI and other processors
Features such as resume tailoring, job suggestions, and note categorization send relevant text to AI providers (currently OpenAI) to generate a response for you. Hosting, email, and SMS providers process account data as needed to run the service. Stripe, Inc. processes contribution payments. Those companies act on our instructions and their own privacy terms.
Payments and security
This site uses HTTPS. Card payments are handled on Stripe Checkout. Job Burro does not store card numbers, CVVs, or bank account numbers. Stripe is a PCI DSS compliant payment processor.
Cookies
We use a session cookie so you stay signed in, plus cookies required for CSRF protection. We do not use advertising trackers on the public pages.
Retention
We keep account and hunt data while your account is open. You may ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected]. Backups and legal holds may last a short additional period. Stripe retains payment records as required by financial rules.
Your choices
You can access and update much of your data in the app. You may disconnect Gmail from the writing-voice settings. Depending on where you live (including some US states), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to appeal a denial. Email us to exercise those rights. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change.
